https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-58747084 Dozens of women were filmed, without their knowledge, while urinating in public. The footage in many instances shows their faces and genitals. The footage has also been uploaded to the Internet, including porn sites that require payment to view. The women sued, but a judge dismissed the case on the ground that the videos were recorded in public space. Sounds like “is there a reasonable expectation for privacy” sort of argument to me. What do you folks think?

"According to court documents, the judge also decided that there was "no intention to violate the physical or moral resistance" of the women affected." I think the judge is misguided.

Men that do that must register as sex offenders in some places. Why not women?

I'm with you, Ax. They were clearly seeking privacy by going onto the side streets. I wonder what the judge would say if there were photographs of people inside their houses, but taken using a telephoto lens from the sidewalk? Did they give up their privacy by standing in the window? (Actually I bet there's some sort of court precedent on this.) But it's Spain and it doesn't surprise me. Machismo prevails.

Walking around the corner to a private alley to pee lands them on the registry? Seriously? That's nuts. I sound like an advocate for public urination. But as a female I can attest to a lifetime of dealing with the lack of facilities for women in all sorts of places. From an architectural perspective, I believe the standard for public facilities is that women need 2x the number of toilets as men. And don't get me started on the protests against unisex bathrooms, which would go a long way to solving the problem. Nina - who guarantees that every female on this board has waited in a long line to pee, while the men's room is totally empty. Also pretty sure that every woman on this board has also used a men's room for the exact same reason.

"Colorado lawmakers are taking action to change a state law that currently makes public urination and streaking a sex offense requiring mandatory sex offender registration. If signed into law, HB 10-1334 will separate the crime of public indecency from the crime of indecent exposure." https://www.shazamlaw.com/arti...0indecent%20exposure.
