Some of these are pretty wacko, and I'd like to see the research behind them. Others are variations on the cognitive psychology levels of processing model laid out by Craik & Lockhart, which basically says the deeper information is processed, the more likely it will be remembered. "Deeper" processing means what it sounds--doing more advanced processing of something. For example, if you want to remember a new word, you should use it in a sentence, thing of words that rhyme with it, visualize something that includes the word, write it longhand, etc. Also related is Michael Posner's attention model, which basically (and in a very simplified explanation) says that the more attention you give to something, the more likely you are to remember it. Yep, that's a model. Go science. Big Grin
