Things you don’t eat.
I worked for Korean companies for eight years. During that time, at the monthly board meeting dinners and equivalent, , I could probably identify 10% of what I ate.

Since I don’t eat meat (just fish), that keeps many gross things away.

I don’t like things that lack texture. No puddings, oatmeal, purées. Otherwise, I eat many things but never really liked undercooked eggs.

I’ve eaten all kinds of weird (to Americans) things, no big deal. But I haven’t tried bugs, and have no interest in doing so. I’d feel those creepy legs scratching all the way down my throat. No thanks!

My grandfather used to have us over for dinner every week. I particularly remember his snails with black bean garlic sauce, and the beef brain soup. (No more brains for me!)

Chicken feet at dim sum. Yummmmmm.

Octopus is yummy, but I don’t like the texture as much as I like the texture of squid. It’s too big/thick. Also, having met some very charming octopuses last December, I don’t want to eat them any more.

I love soft shell crab, but I had a huge allergic reaction to them once so I avoid them now. (Hives)

Weirdest thing I’ve ever eaten? Sauteed ox penis with vegetables. In Vietnam. The texture was rather...spongy!

I'll eat anything that doesn't eat me first. There are some things I don't care for, but that's just personal preference. For example, I'm not overly keen on lobster. But I will consume it without complaint if it is served to me.

I’ll try just about anything. Like Matt, I am not overly fond of lobster but will eat it if it’s served. I’m also not a huge fan of swordfish. I haven’t tried bugs, either, and don’t wish to. My oddest culinary experience was bulls testicles, prepared by a Spanish friend, and they weren’t bad.

Doesn’t sound accurate. I’ve had dragon fruits many time and mostly their meat is sweet and delicious. Many seeds, yes, but the seeds are small, soft, and edible, like sesame.

I like lobster tail but won’t order it in the shell. Also not a fan of wings or ribs. Pulling meat out of an exoskeleton or gnawing it off a bone is closer to the food chain than I want to be.

I can tell you of something that I tried once and don’t care to again: Cephalopods (octopus, squid, cuttlefish, and anything with tentacles). I tasted one fried calamari once. It tasted like fried rubber bands.

It was after seeing the South Korean movie “Oldboy”. Anytime I see octopus tentacles, I think of that movie. There’s a scene in the movie where the main character is in a restaurant and orders a cuttlefish. The cuttlefish was brought out to him on a plate and he starts eating it WHILE IT WAS STILL ALIVE. The fish’s tentacles were moving around and dangling out of his mouth.

You couldn’t get me to do that whether a fish is alive or dead. I read somewhere that a few people die each year after eating a live cephalopod. They choke to death because the tentacle suckers latch onto their throat.
