I entered the job market in one of the worst downturns -- also the beginning of "mircocomputers" and middle managers (like me) were being laid off in droves -- also the beginning of offshoring and outsourcing.
Luckily I enjoyed driving a truck. No matter how bad things got due to technology it's really hard to offshore domestic transportation.
