The southwest is actually climatically quite diverse. Some people winter in Phoenix/Scottsdale or Tucson, and go back to places like Santa Fe in the summer and fall. When it's 10 degrees in Santa Fe in January, it'll probably be 55 degrees in Tucson.
Thus far in 2023 we've had something like 20 days of snowfall in the Santa Fe area. The ski area, which is around 9 miles from our place (as the raven flies) has had 170" so far.
