I'm not on reddit much, have been there mostly to deal with my Xfinity downgrade and some associated billing issues. I've started to poke around occasionally and have stumbled across some oddball/off the wall subreddits. How about TVTooHigh? This one is titled "My Hotel Room Somewhere in Germany". https://www.reddit.com/r/TVTooHigh/ The "Weird subreddits" may become a series.

I've never been there. Am I missing out?

It can be a useful place to get information. The Comcast/Xfinity subreddit was great for actually getting something useful done. OTOH, like any social media, there's also a lot of junk.

When I am shopping for something I always do a Google for ITEM review Reddit. I find it’s the easiest way to find reviews from actual humans. Also there is a subreddit for everything. I got sucked into the one bag travel Reddit and we became one bag people.

I love Reddit. I'm rather addicted to it actually. I follow a ridiculous number of subreddits (including whatismycookiecutter!). People here might enjoy r/piano and r/pianolearning. I'm also on a bunch of ones for areas where I or my kids live (r/Philly, r/UpstateNewYork, r/AskSF) and several other educational ones where I learn interesting things (r/financialplanning,r/realestate etc.) And of course there's the endlessly entertaining r/AmITheAsshole Some other stranger ones I like are: r/ShitMomGroupsSay r/ThatLookedExpensive r/OldSchoolRidiculous r/HermanCainAward r/BuyItForLife r/DesignPorn r/WeddingShaming I also subscribe to r/radiology - no particular reason except reddit showed me a few posts and I thought they were interesting. It's mostly pictures of people's weird injuries and brain tumors....kind of freaky. And I've recently become obsessed with r/EnglishLearning, a subreddit for people who are trying to learn English as a Second Language. They post questions about why things are said a certain way or what a specific slang term means, and every time I see one, I just get more and more amazed that anyone can learn to speak English as a second language - I'm a native speaker with a masters degree in English and I can't explain the answer to half the questions....like I know what is correct, but not why. English is a screwy language LOL!

I've never done subreddit or "main" reddit? Now I'm intrigued. I like the idea of getting real people opinions. I've followed links that have taken me to various subreddits but I don't think about actually looking for things there.

Shut up and play your guitar! Minor Deity |
r/boomersbeingfools is a good one for (ahem) people of a certain age to see how younger generations feel about them, and their behaviors. As with all things social media related, most of the members tend to stereotype and group all boomers into this box of bad behaviors and attitudes. Hence the title of the subreddit. Some of us "borderline" boomers (I actually don't consider myself one being born in 62 and feel more in line with the supposed "Jones generation") are there to do self-reflection to avoid these attitudes and behaviors, and to counter the stereotyping on occasion. A lot of the things they point out as "boomer behavior and attitudes" are really just clueless, rude, racist, selfish, and mostly conservative ideology based behavior and attitudes from any generation including their own. Reddit is basically the only social media app (besides these antiquated forums lol) I use much of these days and that is even a very limited use case. My FB days are numbered and I have decreased my presence there significantly. I suspect 2024 will be the year I delete FB from my devices and most likely will delete my account.

I have never been on Reddit but it sounds like there is some potentially useful stuff on there (like those consumer reviews). I am still on Facebook and spend far too much time scrolling there. If I could only see postings from my friends, that would help. May try logging out more often to limit my time.
