We do once a week. Love the feeling of clean sheets.

Do you shower before bed, or in the morning?
Seems to me that might have something to do with the frequency of sheet washing....

This is a cultural problem for us. The most common practice in Japan is a bath before bed, Mr. SK will take either a bath or a shower, but always before bed.

I almost always prefer a morning shower.

We are somehow still married.

Short hair is a problem here. I feel like I need to wash it every morning. Also a shower wakes me up!

Reminds me that there is a similar question about beds - how often is one supposed to flip the mattress?

I only discovered fairly recently one is supposed to flip them every few months.

As a single, moreover one with a problem spine, even having discovered about the requirement to flip mattresses, I don't obey that commandment.

I love my soft mattress, disregarding the requirement to flip it, but I don't notice any problem without flipping it. (Which reminds me that I think it's a lot of hooey about getting a firm mattress even though "9 out of 10 orthopedic doctors supposedly advise firm mattresses", etc.).

It's the same about podiatrists' recommendations about shoes.

I say "get shoes and mattresses that are comfortable" - fooey, double fooey anything to the contrary.

That said, how often do YOU flip your mattresses? (And are they supposed to be flipped side to side or top to bottom?)

(FWIW I don't change sheets more than once a month, because it's just not something I'm up to however much others may consider it revolting. Still remembering putting an elastic bottom sheet on my mattress and hearing a loud cracking sound after lifting it. I have rods and screws attaching all that titanium, and - well, just NO! For guests, I'll hire out the job but that's it. I try to avoid looking at magnified photos of bed bugs.)

Oh thanks. I thought spring cleaning was just for the dishes.

Easy. You're not competing for the bathroom. Separate bathrooms has always been a must for us, at least before and after we had kids in the house. There are just things you don't need to see.

two showers a day works for mr. pique. one to wake him up, one to not offend my delicate sensibilities in our bed.

Isn't this another definition for "all the time"? Big Grin

I wash sheets every week, more often as necessary.
