Well, it looks nice, and feels nice to sit on. But before I can really know whether it was worth it, I need to see how it is after, say, two years of daily use...

BTW, if you remember my earlier post.... The place that Jon ordered from, CPS Imports, said they were back-ordered until at least Feb. And the place WTG found (the name was something like Van King??) were also out of stock.

Anyway, I'm pleased with it so far, but I've only had it for a few hours.... Distrustful much? WhoMe

BTW, here you can see that the skirt covers the mechanism, although I have the bench up pretty high, and you kind of just barely see the top of the horizontal frame in the corner there. I am pretty sure that true Jansen artist's benches have better coverage, but this looks (and feels) so much better than my old (super rickety) bench, so no complaints!

That looks very nice! I hope you have many happy hours sitting on it, and that it doesn’t even look like you did after all that!

Exactly!!!

My old bench was not very comfy, so I'm hopefully for this new one!

Keep the bolts tight...

That's something I seem to need to do in almost every place I tune!

Congrats! I predict you will forget about any visible frame parts within a week.

Oh I didn’t mean I was bothered by what you can see, and you can’t really even see that unless you’re on the floor looking up like I was for that photo.

I just mentioned it bc whether the skirt covers the mechanism was one of my criteria when bench-searching.

I’m quite pleased with how it looks.

Now I just have to get used to the new bench. It “sits” different and I don’t think I have it at the right height yet!

I realized I haven’t used any piano bench other than my own since the pandemic started, and now with this new bench, I’m all out of whack! suave

In addition to the 4 leg bolts, tighten the screws that go into the wood a couple of times a year, or after seasonal changes. Not so much to damage the wood, but just to make sure none are loosening up.

If the wood is well-seasoned, nothing should loosen up that much. I've seen some that the wood shrinks and swells a lot with humidity...
