I'm of two minds on this. Mind 1 says this is pretty intrusive. Mind 2 says people are entitled jerks and feel they have a right to speed and endanger other people. Witness the uproar around speed cameras here.
The cranky geezer in me says just slow down.
I was literally run off the road two days ago in one of those double-merge lanes onto the freeway, where you merge down to 1 lane before actually getting onto the freeway. The jerk on my right hand side decided he could hit the gas and pass me on the right, but he didn't have enough room. My option was to get into an accident, or veer way over into the gore zone and yield the shoulder and lane to this jerk. I'm lucky I noticed him in time to react at all.
So I'm not at all sympathetic to people's desire for speed.

Studies suggest that those times are a miniscule percentage, and that more often people who think they can avoid an accident by speeding up make it worse.
While they're at it, maybe they can automatically speed up a car that lingers in the left lane for miles on end going 60! Ditto, any driver doing below the speed limit on 2-lane highways. Get their a**es moving!!
I'm passing a car, or even multiple cars, on a two-lane road. I see that I need to speed up to get back in my lane, so I press the accelerator to go faster than the speed limiting technology will allow.
How long can I maintain that speed? Is it going to kick back in before I have completed my pass?
I dunno about this. I don't like the idea of my car not doing what I tell it to do.

Then don't drive in the EU or the UK. Problem solved.
