GPS "spoofing" is very common in some parts of the world. It used to be just jamming. OTOH, many GPS-based navigation systems are getting smarter about detecting the spoof -- mostly by flagging any sudden shifts in position. And flying machines have several other navigation systems that work as multiple layers of backup.
