Whew..I am exhausted, sore (muscle wise) and my brain is alive with possibilities.

My first week at the non profit Mill City Grows was very well planned..

They set each day for me to shadow every aspect the the org.

I worked on the farm weeding, moving debris to get it in shape for an open house.

I weeded and harvested tomatoes in a school garden.

I worked as a customer service, stocking agent at a local farmers market that services those on food stamps.

I loved the tour of the community gardens in challenged neighborhoods. We were lucky to find a few gardeners there when we visited...They grow the most amazing things...many from the countries from where they come...I HAVE to learn how to cook them...

Whew..am I tired...As the week wound down we are getting into the nitty gritty and I am more excited...I love setting up processes and can see so many opportunities to make things easier, more streamlined..and I have full permission to do so..

And every day, there is a bin in the fridge marked "staff"..they are cast offs from the markets...I have made dinner nearly every night from what is left over, summer squash, tomatoes, onions...I have lost 3 lbs! Smiler

As for my previous employer, the clawed back some vaca, tiny paycheck. Good riddance. WTF

No kidding! A gardener's dream.

Enjoy!

That sounds wonderful! Have you figured out what a "normal" day is likely to be? Or is there no "normal" day (which is kinda neat, in my opinion).

I think I have...I do need to pinch myself now and then...it isn't real just yet.

Need time to shed the old, high stress habits I had before at the old job.

But not looking back! Big Grin
