Doug Haiku
wingtips on his feet
kicks the widow onto street
scrooge and Doug smiles sweet
ketchup on his tie
no notice of fly undone
cheerful banker one
This reminds me of how fortunate I am that I was able to retire before this current Quarantine era. If I were still working today, I would have to be logging onto zoom and remotely instructing widows how to throw themselves into snowbanks.

I never saw that poem. Who was the illustrious poet????
Happy birthday, Doug!
That was one of mine. I saved the works for posterity. Even though it was my suggested contest I was eager to participate. A couple of people went multi-media.
Another of mine was...
From the Bad Poets Society...
Debits and credits are tools of his trade
Joys from transactions in his journal made
And when fiscal darkness came to our fair land
Doug pushed accountants to take a brave stand
Together they fought fiscal strife with aplomb
Though some said as a banker, he must be a bum
Still Doug was strong and worked many nights
He fought for decent folks, and their fiscal rights
In the end liabilities fell as assets grew again
And Doug said, "I’m nearly as great as that guy Ken."
