We've been doing our best to support local restaurants by ordering out during the pandemic and even eating out at some of the better-spaced outdoor areas. I've been wondering how things would change as the weather in Chicago cools down. I just picked up at a local sushi place where no one was sitting outside and the inside was packed. There must've been 10-15 people waiting for carryout... I waited outside until the crowd around the register thinned out. Even with a good mask, it made me uncomfortable!

Yeah, that is why we have not even been doing take out. Especially since we hear that not only are customers pretty lax, but sometimes staff is as well. As much as I hate to do it, bc those restaurants may not last to the end of the pandemic, I can’t bring myself to go. Not when I see how lax people are down here.

I’m getting a little concerned, too. Our positivity rate has jumped in recent days. I’m starting to be really picky about when and how often I go shopping. Haven’t considered going to a restaurant, not even for carry out. The CSA boxes have provided a lot of opportunities for new recipes, so At least we’re eating well!

We only do delivery or (like last night) curbside delivery, where they put it contactless in our trunk. | |||

When I went into the podiatrists office Thursday the new woman behind the desk had a mask that was hanging far below her nose. Sign at the door stated that masks are required to enter. I told the doctor. I should have taken a picture of her and chastised her but I was in "nice" mode, which was stupid of me.

Probably more effective if it comes from the person who signs her paycheck.
