Thanks.

I might as well give my opinion about Charles Spencer. If not now, when?

I'm not a fan and wasn't one before she died. She and he had a falling out. I took her viewpoint on their disagreement. This should surprise nobody.

The eulogy--

I watch the full five hours of that day on the day it happened and again years later. RM said, "People watch this kind of thing?" So, I informed him his incredulity was misplaced vis a vis his rhetorical question. It's an historical document. Of course, people watch this funeral, many other funerals, footage of state and national occasions, etc.

It was a good eulogy, but please forgive me for saying it was, also, necessary, in the moment, and had a kind of performance art aspect to it.

Charles Spencer is the godson of HM Queen Elizabeth II. He is establishment to the core. Diana died and he played his part in the drama in the way that aristocratic family members have in similar situations throughout the centuries, with very, very few exceptions.

I'll let the reader intuit my meaning about any aspect of said drama about which I have not been, nor will I be, explicit.

Diana will be remembered in one thousand years and Charles Spencer will be just another footnote in her history and legend.

It's hard for me to believe those two existed in the same universe let alone the same family.

But it was a good eulogy, like I said.
