This is a political stunt by the ruling party, of course.

I wonder how large a bill Ireland should present to London for about 1,000 years of subjugation. The Jewish people could probably ask the RC Church for, oh, maybe $3 trillion. I'll leave that to experts. And add another $900 billion for Spanish bad behavior during the Reconquista. The Orthodox Church should demand several trillion from "The Islamic World" for centuries of attacks ...

I don't think so, Ax. Income disparities between African Americans and the US average were much worse in the past. Ditto with life expectancy and other important measures of human well being.

Same for Poland vis-a-vis Germany and the rest of the "developed" portion of the EU. This is about much more than economics. Take if from the economist.
