Statues Quietly Removed overnight


I know Eileen Filler-Corn (house speaker). She's a smart cookie.

And I've spent some quality time exploring the halls of this building.

These statues and memorials weren't simply documenting the historical record. They were a secular hagiography to the lost cause, done in marble and bronze. They honored the legacy of the noble south defending its honor and integrity, while cementing white supremacy in the most important political chamber in the state.

I'm sure there will be some unhappy docents ...
