What is this wildflower?
It looks a lot like wild mustard but it isn't. We saw whole fields of them as soon as we crossed the southern Kentucky border heading north. I don't remember seeing them here last year but this year they're everywhere.

What is it?

There appear to be both a purple and a white version as well - lots of them along the side of the road.

According to the Seek app it’s butterweed. It is related to (or is a variety of?) ragwort.

It’s toxic to animals, can kill cattle and horses that eat it.

The purple and white flowers are probably phlox. They're blooming prodigiously alongside roadways around here now.
