That’s the problem with conglomerates running news operations. The newsroom cannot be impartial when the rest of the conglomerate has massive business interests in whatever the newsroom is covering.

Bloomberg does not look good in this one, at all, but there is also a fundamental, structural issue with newsroom being financially reliant on a conglomerate.

That's also the problem of covering authoritarian regimes. Part of this is a standard issue faces by journalists at all outlets, including NYTimes-type places. Do you report from Gaza during the conflict? If Hamas is feeding you bullsh!t, and stopping you from saying that you saw a rocket launched from a school playground? But if you leave in protest, you have no influence at all and no one will be there to watch.
