LLDiverticulitis...anyone else get it?
3 times this fall
Hadn't had a flare up for several years.
One doesn't forget.
What do you do?
I self regulate...don't eat for 3 days (can't); the. Start with home made chicken broth, crackers, then soft potatoes, crackers, up to 10 days of soft food.
Discouraged.

NinaI have whatever the precursor is - diverticulosis? or is diverticulitis the precursor?
At any rate, I haven't had a serious flare-up (yet, knock on wood), but I have stopped eating nuts and popcorn totally. I can't give up tomatoes (the seeds are the problem, I think?), and often live with an ongoing ache in my side.
My grandmother and mom both had it, so I know my time is coming. I'm sorry you're dealing with it. It can't be fun.

wtgHave never had it but know several people who have. I think they were advised to avoid whole grains (scratch that - it was.nuts)and things with seeds like tomatoes and poppy seeds. One friend said she no longer puts whole caraway seeds in her homemade rye read and uses ground instead.

DIverticulosis is the disease, itis is the flare up...
Supposedly now from bacteria? Not from eating nuts, seeds, but surely I don't eat either during a flare up.
For health, had started eating more nuts in recent years. Hope that didn't start my problem!!!
Mine started with any unusual meatloaf dish...off most beef, and I blamed that until it settled on low left side pain, which is the telltale clue.

pianojugglerI have the osis, but not the itis. Had one doctor tell me to eat lots of seeds and nuts. Had another doctor tell me not to eat seeds and nuts.
