People sometimes use the word ‘centrist’ when they mean ‘reasonable’ or something like that.
(My dad used to call himself a ‘moderate’ though he was pretty far to the right. After all, who would consider himself to be immoderate?)
You can love her and her policies. But by any measure she’s nowhere near the center of political discourse in the US. She's not even in the center of the Democratic party, though it's certainly headed her way.

Correction. They are being dragged that way by the most vocal members of their respective parties, who may or may not be a majority of the party, and who definitely don't represent the people in the middle.
