My about to turn 97 year old mother is in Assisted Living near Tampa, brother and SIL in Sarasota.
Mom was finally (somewhat) apprised of what's going on when they had to - namely, when they began delivering meals room by room.

It's a perilous place to be especially at her time of life, and I really don't trust the figures about victims in nursing and assisted living facilities. There are so many ulterior motives from various contingencies, for downplaying the toll this is taking.
