In other news, I'm having a (virtual) piano lesson tomorrow. Assuming it goes well, I'll do twice/monthly lessons. The instructor has a PhD in piano pedagogy (I googled his thesis. /academic stalking) Am a little nervous about the virtual format. But looking forward to having lessons again!

Chas, thanks for that link! Not only for that article in particular, but also because it took me to this: Japanese man arrested for attacking pedestrian with violin bow

Ok, I had my first piano lesson, I think this teacher is a keeper!! The plan is to have lessons twice a month, but I knew it was a good sign when, as soon as the lesson was over, I thought "I wanna lesson next week!!" It was very nice to have a teacher who is a trained classical pedagogue but also knows the music I am working on and is enthusiastic about it. Also, he had me sightreading a Chopin prelude (albeit an easy) so that was fun! Anyway, yay! Super excited (if you couldn't already tell!)

' Nice!! Does he/she have room for additional students? Since it's virtual, location doesn't matter! | |||

I would imagine. Want the info? The only tricky thing might be time zones (we're in eastern time here, are you ... Mountain? Pacific? Pacific right?? ). He's located in next town over from me, when I was looking for online teachers I did have in mind that I could potentially have an in-person lesson with him in the future, so that was part of why I initially contacted him.
