The only people suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome are the ones who do not recognize how toxic he is and how much damage he is doing to the country.

Nor his followers. I think if he tweeted that everyone should go out and kick a puppy, his slobbering 34% would go out and kick puppies. Because Dear Leader said so.

Watch President Trump say... [something provocative and offensive]? I don't watch Trump's political rallies. I stopped paying attention to them about 2 weeks after his inauguration. I generally stopped watching him on TV at that time. Presidents have not a) given endless political rallies, b) paid attention exclusively to their base, c.) etc. So, he's managed to "normalize" this routine. I find this fact more disconcerting than the specific provocation. I also find it disconcerting that news has become something to be treated soley as entertainment. This article is as good an example as any. You can have a cursory look at the page, click the start button, and (as the title says) watch Trump say something provacative and offensive. I wonder how many times Tump has said something like this and it wasn't "reported" as "news". I would say it's probably happened countless times. Personally, I've been doing my best to avoid news and politics for going on 6 months. I assure you that there can be value in not paying attention to Trump's intentionally provacative utterances. | |||
