President gave overview and turned it over to others. Birx and Fauci giving medical details and projections, Pence giving operational details and some generally reassuring words. Thanking people for their sacrifices and asking for their continued support. On detailed questions, Trump is not winging it but calling Pence, Birx, and Fauci back to the podium to answer. This is how it should work.

Yea, I turned off yesterday's presser when Mr Pillow showed up. Seriously though, there was a lot of good, if sobering, information today. I don't know how long/if it will last, but it was a bigly improvement.

Interesting observations from CNN's Jim Acosta, who has had a pretty rocky relationship with Trump. I missed the part of the briefing where Trump talked about a friend who has the virus and is in a coma. Seems that between the friend, and also seeing the hospital video from Queens, it's hit him in a personal way. Acosta said Trump today was a noticeably different person. He said it seemed like the reality of the situation had sunk in and that Trump was scared.

I hope I will be forgiven here for the sentiment I'm about to express... My wish re Trump at this time is for him (finally listening to advisers), to DO the right things but continue to sound his ridiculous self - if not more so. There IS an election around the corner, folks. It would be a shame for this virus to absolutely insure his winning, by allowing him to run as a "war" hero.

Steve, as you well know I have no faith in Teump based on the last four years of what I’ve seen. But there was something different yesterday. Will it last? I don’t know, but a light went on in his brain even if it was just for a moment. Please believe me. You owe it to yourself to watch yesterday’s briefing. If you can’t stomach Trump, at least skip to Birx and Fauci’s remarks.
