Serial origamist Has Achieved Nirvana |
Couple has only minor injuries after power pole falls on their car. https://www.cnn.com/videos/us/...r-driving-es-vpx.cnn Another video here: https://twitter.com/TukwilaPD/.../1115641285954555904 Hundreds of NFFMCo employees were just getting ready to leave for the day when the power went out in their facility, and at the Museum of Flight across the street, and in fact throughout neighborhoods for a couple miles. The employees headed for their cars but were told to return to the buildings since live power lines were blocking the main entrance to the complex.

26 poles fell over. Still no word on the cause, other than "probably weather-related". Since this street is parallel to the runway at Boeing Field. I thought maybe an aeroplane had clipped the wires, but there are wires at the same height on the other side of the street (closer to the runway), and the last time that happened, the airplane just got tangled in the wires and hung there, upside-down, for several hours.

The utility has hired someone to look into it. https://patch.com/washington/s...tility-pole-collapse I've seen a row of poles along I-94 (actually along the frontage road) felled after a storm came through. As I recall they all snapped at ground level. Surrounding area is all farmland and traffic on the frontage road is light so no cars were hit. Happened two summers in a row.
