Piano picture of the day
I've heard about these, but never seen one in action. Piano stair-climbing machine for movers...

For the pianist confined to a padded cell...

I think we're gonna have to take that lava lamp away from him, though.

That's great! When you're too exhausted or exasperated from practicing, you can let your head just fall into that cushion! Big Grin

I didn't see the movie, but I heard the Dave Grusin Original Soundtrack CD. Is that when she sings that "hotter than hot" Making Whoopie ? (Btw she's a pretty good singer for a movie star)

It's looking like the temperature is going to be a muggy 94 F. today. It makes me want to be in a place where this piano could survive...

The caption for this one listed the person playing the ice piano at the ice hotel....
Could it really be playable?

Talking about player pianos with percussion...

I've only seen one of these, called a photoplayer, used during the silent movie era in a few of the bigger theaters. Piano, organ and lots of sound effects available through the pull cords. The boxes extend left and right past the edge of the picture. Somehow, it was possible to re-load a roll while playing something else, (two spoolboxes) keeping the music playing!

Some of these contraptions got pretty complicated; here's one that even included a steel drum!
