Here's a cute little timer:

"Tirelessly the pianist hammers away at the keyboard - as long as the sand runs.

- Sand motor
- Size: 10.5 x 9 x 16 cm
- 3 card cutouts DIN A 4, inkjet printing
- Price: 7.50 Euro

The mechanical sculpture is driven by a "sand motor". A sand container is located in the upper part of the shelves from which fine sand trickles on a lever, an egg timer is comparable. Under the weight of the sand the lever comes down - and at the same time the arms are going up. Arms and lever are connected by a cocktail stick as axle. The sand slides down from the sloping lever and the lever raises up again - the pianist's fingers are falling down on the keys."

Here we go with another "Zorba approved" upright. This one's called an "Uxbridge"

Wow! different strokes for different folks!

I like the lawn one; there is a local store that had a frame outside their store for years on a fairly main street. As the years passed, and they took less care of the looks, I'm not sure it was such good advertising...

Here's some old advertising:

I don't think we've had any squares in this thread...

This is an early 1800's "Geib", it has no plate or metal reinforcement, and the soft and sustain pedals are reversed from the modern useage.
