ZorbaLove the Nordiska's wood and finish! Could use a bit more (Ok, a LOT more) gingerbread and a two piece fallboard, but that wood looks rich!

rontunerI've gotten so used to seeing black poly on new Asian pianos that I was pleasantly surprised to walk in and see some real wood under the finish!
It was interesting to look down between the keys and see my legs - there is a metal rail that supports the keybed, so the solid wood isn't needed for stability.
Here's another Nordiska with a more "modern" look:

ZorbaLove that Nordiska grand! What beautiful wood! The second "Modern" upright doesn't do it for me, even though it has woodgrain as well.
So what is a "Wendl & Lung"?

rontunerA Wendl & Lung is a new entry from the shores of China...
One neat feature is that the keyboard is either removable or foldable, (I missed that meeting) allowing for easier moves in cramped locations. They make grands as well as uprights. The Fazioli dealer in Chicago has picked them up.

Ha! You're right. JF works in a 14 story building which is built on springs so it gives in high winds. THe other day was extremely windy, and he came home almost with sea legs - apparently they were moving so much the water was sloshing about in the toilet bowls. Imagine the piano on springs up there!

It actually reminded me of the little grand I used to have in the living room of the other house. My cat used to lie across the bass strings in it, all the way to the back by the bass bridge. It was fairly accessible (without a jump) by crossing chair backs or the fireplace mantle. (Why do cats never walk across a floor but instead travel from chair to table to mantle to chair to window sill to piano?) I didn't especially like it, but I figured better that one than the concert grand in the next room. She was never in much of a hurry to climb out even after I started playing, unless I absolutely pounded big bass chords. Fortunately she now just lays on her back looking contented right under the middle of the sound board on the concert grand while I play these days (thick carpet makes that more attractive). She's never offered to get in or on the concert grand, but I make sure there's never anything near it that provides a easy-access bridge.

Same thing I noticed. And look at where the stick ends up at the plate. I don't think it's real, either.
If it is, I want to see the una corda shift the keybed to the right and what happens when the secundo didn't want it then.

This inlaid beauty has some connection with Franz Liszt. (The site was in long dense French which I didn't care to tackle). Note the two extra music racks for your accompanists. Cool.
