Don't you just love these Plate extensions, straight away you know it has to be a Bösendorfer Imperial, every other piano I've seen has the Plate hugging the Rim.
Then with all these holes of different sizes, curving round down the Plate, the open character gives the "Rolls Royce" an air of impressive individual beauty.

Brian BecroftThis Baldwin console with that Barn Roof lid gives me an idea, now you could imagine this as the prototype for your next house design - you could live in your own giant upright piano! But really - it would work wouldn't it...

Where on earth would you put your knick-knacks and piles of sheet music?

Brian BecroftIt has the "wing" of something that looks like a Grand Piano, but the man who is seated behind it is the honoured recipient of it... It is non other than the PTG Golden Hammer Award. The person is non other than Owen Jorgensen... And I read that he has just died. A revered figure of the piano industry.

Brian Becroft Attribution to Clementi - circa 1800 Serial #529
A Cabinet Pianoforte attributed to Clementi. This tall style piano was in a form to give it a larger and longer stringing for more sound. This particular one is fully covered with high quality inlays of different fruit woods. Very Unique Cabinet Piano from this period.
He was also a virtuoso pianist, a prolific composer and piano manufacturer!!
It may have been posted before, but it is such a beauty I could look at it all day!

Exactly - I wonder what it would cost, let alone find a craftsman capable, to do all that inlay work on my piano... besides these amazing pianos there are the astounding minds behind their conception!
