Unrepentant Dork Foregoing Vacation to Post |
BeeLady - my temp went down after 3 days, then hovered around the high end of normal (I usually run a bit low, so that still probably qualified as a low grade fever for me) for 2 days. But I felt WAY better for those two days. If his runs a similar course, expect his fever to break at some point tomorrow evening.
Hope they both feel better soon, and that you stay healthy!

Hope your youngin's feel better soon.
And that you stay healthy too. I am trying to avoid all outside contacts. I so want to go get some chowder at that wonderful hole in the water near the waterfront, but too afraid there will be mucho germs around. Even starting to eat my frozen italian sauces to avoid going to the store. H1N1 is not available here yet but supposedly I might have some immunities from the 50's flu go around. Broken/fractured rib is not helping me in the breathing dept along with the chronic bronchial condition. Would hate to think what the flue would do to me. Hugs to the BL's family.

Thanks dol and LL..At this point, Middle is up and down. When the iburofen is at it's best he is up and around eating or moving from bed to couch. He is trying to take a stab at homework.
Shorty is not so bad and the school nurse called to say he had been exposed to STREP...that may mean that we can take him in for a test tomorrow, get antibiotics and he is done. Today is too soon as they won't test till they have been sick for 24 hours. I plan to try out the "minute clinic" for this...much closer to home and no Dr. office waiting etc. And LL I know what you mean. I have asthma and it is peak allergy season for me so congestion is up. I know this flu is very hard on the lungs so am being careful. When I hurt my ribcage, the Doc's had me take a few deep breaths several times a day to keep things from settling down deep. It hurts, but is necessary. I hope you are on the mend!

Hope they feel better soon, BL. Glad you're feeling better, dol.
And LL, ouch. Hope you mend quickly. (Doesn't it generally take 6 weeks? Ugh.)

My doctor's office suggested I call Public health.
They scheduled me for a H1N1 shot a next Tuesday. A WEEK away. I qualify because I am 62 with asthma. A week away and then a period of time before it is effective. Feel like a sitting duck.

Puffin's best friend is home with a fever today.
Puffin has been pretty good about hand washing and gargling. Fingers crossed. jf

I had both H1N1 and seasonal flu shots day before yesterday.
I had a mini version of that pneumonia-like cold that lasted four weeks -- one night of hacking and coughing and sinus congestion. I am asthmatic too. Today everything seems fine except for two sore arms. So I deduce that I had swine flu with a low fever which caused it to be misdiagnosed as a bad cold/bronchitis. I CAN say I never had anything like it before in my life. It was successsfully treated BTW (fourth week in) with the Medrol Dosepack, which is a staggered course of steroids. The two days of euphoria on the first doses really restore you, the rest is just reinforcement. Side effects include massive confusion and raised blood pressure, but it worked.

Got the H1N1 two days ago.
Public Health called. There was a foul up. They wanted me to come in the next day, not next week. Being 62 with asthma ain't all bad.
