Steve MillerChina anyone?
Looks like I’ll be going to China mid March. I’m going to need a visa. From what I see on the net I’ll need to go to the Chinese consulate.
True?

jon-nycI had to, though it was no big deal. Not even a delay.
Can’t tell you too much about the process, it was 2003.

Steve MillerShanghai. I've taken a project management job to duplicate a Chinese manufacturing line in a new building in SoCA. They want me to go with them to look at how they did it there.

jon-nycI was in Shanghai in 2003, also for business.
In fact I was there when GWB gave Sadaam his 48 hour ultimatum and then started the war.
Interesting but short trip. I still cherish the picture of the great statue of Mao, with the Pepsi and Citibank signs in the background.

piqabooUSe on of the 'by mail' visa services. Saves you two trips to LA as they dont give visas on teh day of application any more.
My employer uses Swift Passport Services
Get the 10 year visa.
It takes longer than you think - start gathering your supporting docs. Once you have them, it goes quickly.
