In its wild news conference Thursday, President Trump’s legal team promoted a very simple-sounding theory that seems likely to be central to its voter fraud allegations: that many precincts in the key states had more votes than actual voters, particularly in Michigan and Wisconsin.

“Well, in Michigan and Wisconsin, we have over-votes in numerous precincts of 150 percent, 200 percent and 300 percent,” Giuliani said.

Sidney Powell alleged that it was “up to 350 percent in some places.”

Within hours, the evidence for that claim began to crumble.

The source of Powell’s number is an affidavit from a security consultant in Texas named Russ Ramsland. Ramsland appeared on Lou Dobbs’s Fox Business Network show on Tuesday and detailed his claims.

“The things that you find in Michigan are amazing,” Ramsland began. “There are over 3,000 precincts where the presidential vote cast compared to the estimated voters … is 99 percent all the way up to 350 percent. Those kind of numbers don’t exist in the real world. So where did all those votes come from?”

But as the Powerline blog first reported, the affidavit made a major mistake. Its data wasn’t actually from Michigan; it was from Minnesota. What’s more, its conclusions about over-votes even in those Minnesota locations aren’t backed up data from the Minnesota secretary of state.

Ronna McDaniel and the head of the Michigan GOP called on the Michigan Board of Canvassers not to certify the election on Monday.

Monday's a key date. Georgia has already certified, and Kemp signed it. I think Michigan comes Monday, and PA counties have to certify Monday (one Republican in Luzerne County said they wouldn't certify, and they think Trump won). Then the Secretary of State can certify the state.

If Michigan and PA certify, Trump's attempted coup has probably failed.

Can that one county (Luzerne) keep the whole state from certifying?

I don't know ... and it was only one person in that county. I don't know how many are on the board there, or what the others might do.)

A round of drinks between several Michigan Republican leaders after a meeting with Pres. Donald Trump is raising eyebrows — and drawing criticism — on Saturday.

“Dom Pérignon” trended on Twitter Saturday morning after photos of House Speaker Lee Chatfield, Sen. Mike Shirkey and State Rep. Jim Lilly chatting in the lobby of the Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C. surfaced online.

The legislators’ drink of choice — a $500 bottle of Dom Pérignon champagne — in addition to their visible lack of face coverings, are now under fire.

The meeting came after Shirkey and Chatfield met with Pres. Donald Trump after he summoned them to discuss the 2020 Presidential Election results — which many see as an attempt to change its outcome.

Their voters will happily reelect them. You see, when Republicans do this, they're just our betters enjoying themselves after working hard on our behalf. When Democrats do it, they're f****** elitists.

Michigan House Speaker Lee Chatfield referenced the possibility of a "constitutional crisis" during an interview on Fox News Sunday morning, two days after he met with President Donald Trump at the White House.

The Board of State Canvassers meets Monday to consider certifying Michigan's statewide election results, including President-elect Joe Biden's 154,000-vote victory. But top Republican Party leaders have asked the board to delay certification in a bid to investigate "anomalies and irregularities" they claim occurred in the election.

The board features two Republicans and two Democrats. Many legal experts believe the panel has a duty, under Michigan law, to certify the results.

"If there were to be a 2-2 split on the State Board of Canvassers, it would then go to the Michigan Supreme Court to determine what their response would be, what their order would be," Chatfield, R-Levering said on "Fox & Friends" Sunday. "If they didn't have an order that it be certified, well now we have a constitutional crisis in the state of Michigan. It's never occurred before."

Chatfield, the top lawmaker in the GOP-controlled House, said the Legislature decided "long ago" to have the certification process run through the state board.

"If this way doesn't work, obviously, now we have questions that have arisen in Michigan for the very first time," Chatfield said.

"It's a place that I really don't want to be in," he said.

Pretty cool. You can watch the Michigan election certification meeting on C-SPAN.

One of the former members of the board of canvassers observed that the board certified the 2016 election "without fanfare" when the margin was a quarter of what it is in 2020.

He's been consistent for the entire meeting. He says he has closely examined the statutes and sees no powers that allow them to delay certification.

He went mano a mano with a Republican attorney who appeared on Zoom as part of the hearing. Van Langevelde stood his ground.

Not only that, the number of precincts that were out of balance in 2016 were double what they are in 2020.

Yeah, he didn't sound like he was much in doubt about what he had to do.
