And here it is:
Bluestar, made in Reading, PA, USA. The open burners, two of which deliver 22K BTU, convinced me. Also many satisfied users on GardenWeb (though some have had issues). It's not installed yet, just looking pretty. The surface is stainless steel. Would have preferred the rangetop which is all cast iron, and even more powerful, but that was $1K more, and would involve extensive carpentry.

Looks like a nice cooktop... and having only 22k btu's isn't a handicap in my book... but then I usually leave the incineration of large pieces of bovine protein to my backyard grill.

Looks serious... how many BTU's total if you turn all of them on full blast?
Wouldn't it be a little dangerous to have all the control knobs on the same surface as the burners? Regardless, congratulations on your new acquisition.

Thanks, all! The knobs on the top surface are much the same as we have on our old cooktop, so we're used to it. Sometimes they got hot on the old one, too. The hottest burners are the left and right front, not that we're going to run them full blast.
The grids don't actually accommodate a wok without a ring, which would lift it rather far off the flame. If I were really going to use a wok, I'd buy an extra grid and have someone hack off the points in the center, so the wok could be right near the flame. I'm hesitant to use my wok indoors though, as I'd need a serious vent hood that goes to the outside. That would mean a serious kitchen remodel. I know, from wokking on the outdoor propane cooker, that the airborne smoke and oil would make a mess of the kitchen.

Congratulations. That looks like a serious piece of cooking machinery. It certainly has the rated heat output to do some serious work. I hope it lives up to expectations. Give us a review after you've used it a bit.

Hot damn, and I do mean hot. The cooktop was installed yesterday. I'll post pics when I think of taking pictures.
There's a wok ring that I used on the high burner for sauteed greens with onion, green chili and dried coconut. The ring isn't great, but the dish turned out great anyway. The control is amazing. Even on the 22K burner, you can get the flame down to a whisper. Dang, I am gonna go to town with this thing! Pics soon, I hope.

I'm afraid pics will only tantalize in this case. What we need are tastes and smells, but my internet connection doesn't provide that (yet).
