+1

As soon as I stop spamming posting all the painting stuff, I'm looking forward to the time when I'm ready to buy a grand so I can create a whole bunch of threads combining home decor and pianos Keyboard Jam

Hard to pick as well. But dare I admit I was a but put off by "parental brag" and "career brag"? Perhaps I took it too literally, but I rarely feel like the threads we have had about kids, parenting and careers are brags. Most are venting or questions.

Back to our regularly scheduled programming.... Big Grin

Or even the ones that might be termed "brags" seem to me to fall more under the category of "sharing good news with people who we think might care."

I would be sad if people here kept their good news to themselves because they didn't want to be seen as braggarts.

I had the same reaction but I don’t think pique meant it in a negative way at all, just being concise for the poll. Heck, we often label such posts ‘brags’ of some sort in the title, it seems to me people like those and think of them along the lines Mary Anna suggests.

In the case of my kids, it’s no brag - just fact…

I take the parental brag threads as microaggression against those of us without children. I can't take it anymore. Can't we single, childless people have a safe space here? I feel threatened by all the gloating; if there's but one such thread on the main page I can't even concentrate on what I'm reading in the other threads. Enough already! Leave us peace!!

The painting threads rock! They have the essentials:

Photos.
Personal life.
Opportunities for us WTFers to dream up ways to spend your money.

Win-win-win!

You’re misinterpreting it. It’s meant as a full-on macroagression. Smiler

That's my approach. Why waste your time with a microagression when macroaggressions are so much more satisfying?

Or as my late friend Dave used to say, "If you're gonna be a bear, you might as well be a grizzly."
