jodiHow awful. Every time we move I wonder if this Is the the time my piano will just disintegrate into a heap of keys and strings when it comes off the truck. They almost tipped it over into the garden coming around the corner on the front walk into our current house.

ShiroKuroI've been reading about this over at PW, truly heartbreaking!
Apparently this piano was specially built for her and the fourth pedal mentioned in the article was designed for playing ppp -- according to someone on PW, it reduces the hammer distance, which is fascinating to me because that's what the far left pedal on an upright does.
Here's another article:

Something similar almost happened with my piano when I bought it! Having a grand piano on its side up on a dolly and trying to go around a corner is just a recipe for disaster! (My piano movers showed up with just two people when they really needed three. in any case, all's well that ends well!)
