Hilarious, but Steve showed it to me this morning and said - sadly - a lot of this is true...

This one, also, could have been written by our upper admin people:

We understand you may have concerns about the University’s future, but we will take this time to emphasize that academic terms are merely units of time, and here at the University, we strongly believe in the concept of time.

In this time, more than ever, it is time for strong, decisive action.

We have decided to delay our decision.

It is our decision to delay our decision so we can decide on our decision at a later decided time.

We will make our final decision on campus reopening on a date no later than the day our closest competing universities announce their decisions and no earlier than the day after we cash your fall tuition deposit checks.

The University is here for you in this trying time. If you have any questions not answered by this email, please do not hesitate to re-read this email.

They're putting magic air cleaners in all of our dormitory rooms.

No word yet about the bathrooms. Nor about the academic buildings where thousands of people truck through every day.

We did just learn that everyone is, after all, going to be required to wear masks in class. It is suggested that instructors carry masks around and politely offer them to anyone not wearing one. If they refuse, we are to politely ask them to leave. If they refuse to leave, we are authorized to cancel class.

We are also encouraged to carry masks with us everywhere, so that we can politely offer one to anybody not wearing one.

Does any of this sound like madness to you?

Yep, we finally got this as well!

This has not been suggested (yet). But I actually already decided to do this. I ordered several boxes on Amazon specifically for this purpose. I will not be in a classroom with less 100% mask compliance. But, the students are also barely a step above being children, I'm ok with giving them the benefit of the doubt and using it as a teachable moment.

It's nice that they have made this clear, actually. It's important to have all of that spelled out actually.

Ok, yeah, that's going a little overboard...

Yes. All of it. But I have to make it work, I'll do what I can to make it work.

Sigh.

ROTFLMAO

That is 100% true, but we all have to own up. I am part of a team that answers questions regarding our (you guessed it) furlough program. Yes, I am on partial furlough, so I lol'd at that.

But instead of the above, I can literally copy and paste, "As stated in the first paragraph of our FAQ webpage...." blah blah blah.

Bang Head

I tell you, these days we're all seeing the best and the worst in people. So far, my "best" is ahead of my "worst," so I really can't complain.
