A friend who lives south of Houston has the Corona Virus.
He got a second vaccination in mid-February.
The fever hit last Wednesday, April 21. It has come and gone since. Has been near 102.
He was tested Friday. He got his results Sunday evening.
His doctor told him to come to the office. His wife will drive him.
He only mentioned fever and aches.

Ugh. I hope the vaccine does what the experts are saying it will, and protect your friend from serious harm.

Sorry to hear it, Chas.

The vaccines are supposed to make any subsequent case of Covid relatively mild.

Sure hope that's how it works out.

So sorry to hear this, Chas. I hope he has a relatively easy time recovering.

But also a reminder to us all vaccinated folks that we are not out of the woods entirely.

Let's not get giddy or anything!

breakthrough infection is always a risk. 95% isn't 100%.

The evidence is very strong that infections yield more minor illness if you're vaccinated.

He did mention that he told his wife he was going to ride his motorcycle to the doctor appointment.
She shut that down.
I think he was kidding about riding to the appointment.

I'll be interested in learning - when it's known - if there's a causal relationship (as is popularly suspected) between disagreeableness of vaccine side effects and strength of immune response generated.

(That the worse the reaction, the more effective the protection is.)
