I bought mine quite awhile ago. 1000 sharp. Tops at the time. Love the clarity. Have Roku.

Sometimes I wish it were a little bigger. Those update odd new stuff, ? I am totally lost. I use Amazon for movies and know I can use YouTube stuff but don't seem to look too often.

I hat the way it hangs on the wall (far away) but it has needed to be comcast serviced several times so they need to get back there.

Size is on diagonal. 26 but the room is fairly small.

LL, we got a 49" TCL, this one:

I think we have a stand (kinda like a side table) so we're going to put it on that rather than attach it to the wall.

Let us know how you like it! Mine went on a wall just cause there is no table room for it. ...
Piano took up dining room table in that room (also now office)
LR has small dining table along with huge antique cupboard, couch etc.
Too much stuff!

Roku leads the pack.

quote:
Over 30 percent of all new TV streaming devices sold in the US last quarter ran Roku software, according to a new report from Strategy Analytics (via 9to5Google). The sales mean that Roku is now used on more than 41 million devices across the country. Roku’s share of sales was more than double that of both its closest competitors; Amazon’s Fire TV was present on 12 percent of devices sold, while Samsung’s Tizen could be found on 11 percent.

I didn't know that Costco sold TCL TVs. On sale through the 6th:

Well it doesn't surprise me, TCL seems to be the it-brand now. Walmart, Target and Best Buy also sell them, along with Amazon of course. Costco's prices are good, but don't have the model we got.

We're quite happy with this TCL TV by the way! (it's a series 5 fwiw.) Someone else might not be, but for us, considering it's an upgrade from an 11 y/o tv, it's great.

I asked the guy at Best Buy why someone would buy a $1000 or $2000 tv, and he started talking about all this technology that makes the picture better in a variety of ways, and also things having to do with the smoothness of movement etc.

We might notice that stuff if we had a $2000 tv lined up next to a $300 tv, but we don't play video games on the tv, and we've been watching an 11 y/o tv that's half the size. So, in the absence of a side by side comparison, we figured we'd be quite happy with the TCL and there's no point in waiting to save up money for a more expensive tv. And it seems that we were right. Smiler

Those are the 2018 models, I believe, but probably almost the same as the 2019 models. According to an Amazon chart, the only difference between the 5-series and the 6-series is "CCZ technology", which TCL describes like this:

quote:
Our Contrast Control Zones (CCZ) is part of the powerful performance package available on our new six series TV. It is a combination of a full array back light and up to 120 zones of individually controlled dimming zones of the LEDs in the backlight. Simply put, and LED TV with Full array and contrast control zones is the only way in LED TV can have the blackest blacks and whitest whites on screen at the same time, delivering an amazing contrast, bright vibrant white, and deep rich blacks. Thanks, TCL USA support

Supporting what SK says, TCL's hype says that it's the fastest-growing television brand in North America.

And the Costco model is a very good price ...
