What would you put in your pantry, frig, or freezer if you feared you will be sick and unable to go out for 10 days.

I always buy enough food for 2 weeks at a time so I'd just do a regular shopping.

Canned or frozen soup. Pasta and sauce. Eggs. Frozen bread. Root vegetables that last. Oatmeal, nuts and dried fruits. Things that keep and are easy to fix.

Toilet paper. Toothpaste. Frozen veg. Cheese.

Ingredients for soups/stews/casseroles I can make ahead and freeze. Perhaps a ham - freeze half.

Prescription meds. OTC meds like Pepto Bismol and Aleve.

Dish soap. Laundry soap. Bath soap. Razor blades.

Gin. Olives. Dog food. Salsa.

If I'm already feeling carpy, then I need to be honest and say I'd be buying at least several days' worth of frozen meals, like frozen lasagna, etc. I know my limits and I wouldn't want to cook up much of anything if I were really feeling sick.

If I could plan it (like recovering from a planned procedure) then yeah: lots of pre-made frozen stuff like chili, soup, casseroles. Bread (frozen) is a good idea. Also check staples that you'd hate to run out of like eggs, cheese, butter, coffee/tea, milk, etc. And of course cookies and ice cream! Smiler

If I knew that I was going to be sick ...

I'd duck the diet for a little while.

Lots of soup, rice, ice cream, cheese, and pre-cooked chicken strips to put in soups.

And bagels.

I am just coming off being sick as a dog for 10 days so now I have some experience. Blink

Tissues, tp, tea, ginger ale, tissues, meds and refills, tissues, crackers, distilled water for my neti pot.

I am lucky to live down the street from a manufacturer of "as good as homemade" soups. I go to their factory store and stock up on quarts of soup both thawed and frozen. Their chicken noodle has kept me alive the last two weeks. Yes

Glad you are on the mend. Just from your list it sounds like it has been miserable. This *is* an excellent list. Especially like the reminder for Kleenex and distilled water.

Thanks all. Bronchitis is still working its way out, going on 3 weeks now, though back to work. Most of us have had it so the office has been running on a skeleton crew.

One thing about all the food suggestions...I had no appetite and food didn't really taste very good. So go ahead and stock up but remember that you may only be in the mood for dry toast and broth for a time.
