REPEAL THE 16th AMENDMENT! Beatification Candidate |
Those POS wheels? Chrome peeled after 2 years or so. Very happy we had the Original wheels shipped back home from Vegas. Found a replacement for the cracked one in the junkyard. Actually in better shape than the one it replaced. No more pimpin' out cars for this guy! Those chrome wheels were the only ones we could get for our car. I would have purchased a plain steel wheel if I could have found one.

Pretty car, but it gives me PTSD big time. I hope it's more reliable than mine was. (And mine came from a little old lady, my mum.)

It has the outside rails, but does it have the half-dozen or so that are attached to the roof surface? Maybe I just don't see them due to the angle of the picture, but mine end just a couple inches aft of the sunroof. BTW, I've mentioned before... the E-class wagon is available in Europe with any of three gasoline or FOUR Diesel engines. Here in the U.S., you can get a 3.2 liter gasser... period.

Nice car, Mark... your choice in models somewhat mirrors my family's... a 4-door sedan and a wagon for Connie. However they aren't M-B cars, but come from a bit further south...

That is cool, nice and all that.
Like wagons myself. My Subaru Outback is a wagon. It is an SUV in disguise. The 2010 model has a higher roof, making the roof rack less accessible. That makes it less desirable in my book.

I like wagons; we've always had them. Never went the minivan or SUV route. Last two were Volvos.
Great-looking car, Mark!

Post a photo please. I have no idea what you are talking about.
Yep. I would love a Diesel version. I wonder what's going on there?

I believe his was nearly identical (including color?) to my 1995 Waggin.

Don't you have a W124? The later years 1994-1995 of that model were also rock solid reliable.
The first couple of years of the W210 (what I have) had some reliability issues but these were all all engineered out in the on-going model years. The wagon we bought is the last year of production of the W210 and is known to be the most reliable of the model. I still like the looks of the 80s & 90s Mercedes. Timeless design.

Yes. 1995 was the last year of the W124. Click and Clack have declared the 1995 E320 to be the all-around best designed and executed car ever made.

I've always liked Mercedes station wagons. So elegant. |

Case in point regarding cost of maintenance...
Cabin filters. Micron/Hepa type. Requires 2. Need to remove the glove box to replace them. $34/pair at the dealer. $16/pair on-line. Same exact OEM part #. Dealer wants $200+ in labor. It's a 5 minute job once you know how to remove the glove box. Took me longer as it was my first time. 6 Screws and they were out. They are rather dirty. I am getting a pair from the dealer just for expedience sake. Next pair (20k miles or 12 months from now) will be ordered online for < half price.
