Sweeet....I, too, am soo over the minivan....
Is that your dealership? Our Toyota dealer is now so high tech I feel like I am driving into the a starship! Makes those annoying visits tollerable when there is wi fi, cable, the NYTimes and donuts!

That's the dealership. I will get a stable photo of it next to the C240 tomorrow.
I thought you would like it Daniel! Thanks! Yes, I am mental Matt. Actually 5 of the now 8, Mercedes Benzes we have owned have been purchased or leased through the dealership in Rockford. The car was actually in Indiana at their sister dealership. I found it on AutoTrader do com. Called the guy and asked if they would bring it to Rockford to let me drive and inspect it. The obliged. It needs very little but a couple of minor things I will take care of right away. It will need a new pair of tie rod ends soon and I will be having them replaced within a week or two. It's always amazed me how well engineered they are. A properly maintained Mercedes Benz will drive and ride like a new car even with 108k miles on the odometer. I intend to keep it that way too.

That looks very nice. I still prefer the looks of my W124 and love the inline six. But, that is a very nice wagon.
I have yet to see a car as versatile as a Mercedes wagon. And the best part isn't just that it's not a minivan... it's not an SUV!

108K? I only have 117K on my 1995.
Of course, commuting half the year by motorcycle has helped, and half the time I've owned it, I also had the Miata.

It looks like it doesn't have the rails on the roof, or the crossbars. I bet it doesn't have a hitch receiver, either...
How the heck are you going to go camping in that thing???

My 2002 VW Passat has 114K on it, and it still rides and handles the same as the day we bought it. Oh, and Mark, thank you for your contribution to my state's coffers. |

beautiful car! i love european engineering, but the cost to maintain them is ridiculous. hence, i never replaced the volvo i totalled.
i'll confine my affection for german engineering to pianos, which i'm afraid is costly enough.

It has the roof rails PJ.
No crossbars though. I will get a pair so I can put the Thule on top next summer. Camping? Fold the seats down, inflate the mattress and there ya go!

Cost to maintain is only ridiculous at the dealer. Just like any car.
DIY or have a good indie and they cost no more than any other car to properly maintain.

It's funny that they would do reciprocal taxes with WI, since they won't with IN. (Maybe it's the other way around. |
