Posted : Monday Nov 2, 2009 13:09:28 EST

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Navy has identified the pilot found after his plane disappeared off the Texas coast on Wednesday.

The body found Friday has been identified as that of 30-year-old Lt. Bret Travis Miller of East Troy, Wis.

The Corpus Christi Caller-Times that Miller’s body was recovered Friday when a floating oil rig’s crew reported something in the water.

The Coast Guard suspended the search Sunday night for a second Navy pilot, 29-year-old Lt. John Joseph Houston of Houston.

The two instructors were flying the Navy T-34C Turbomentor plane on a routine training flight when it disappeared. The Coast Guard estimated that it searched 131 hours and 20,900 square miles. It said it will continue trying to locate the plane.

One thing about the school of experience is that it will repeat the lesson if you flunk the first time.

Let it be said by our children's children that when we were tested we refused to let this journey end, that we did not turn back nor did we falter; and with eyes fixed on the horizon and God's grace upon us, we carried forth that great gift of freedom and delivered it safely to future generations.

Oh no!

Any reaction from Altoid? Does she know?

One of my sons' friend's father died when my son was 6. He became very attached to me for a while -- saying he was afraid I would die. They think strange things at that age. Hold her close.

She doesn't know yet.

I spoke with the principal about it this morning, and he says the school is doing everything they can to support the family(counseling, etc.). However, the PTA hasn't taken any action yet I know of. They are trying to keep it invisible on campus so far, for the boy's sake. I think that's the prudent course of action for now.
