In this specific case, I would say, "do you smell that whatchamacallit"?

In other cases, I might say, "do you see that whatchamacallit"? or "do you hear that whatchamacallit"?

It’s not about smelling one, it’s more about walking in to a place and smelling thousands of them that have been there a while. Eeker
