3. She’s already terrified I will drag her to BBQ competitions.

Mary Anna asked me to do it as her birthday present last year. No way to say no to that.

Hahahahahaha no. Our dancing is for our own fun and exercise.

Quirt is being modest. He didn't merely accommodate my birthday whim with a lesson or the beginner's three-pack of lessons. He went. He had a good time. He said, "Let's sign up for the super value pack!" and now we've been torturing our sweet young instructor for eight months.

It's the kind of exercise I like best. I'm having a good time, so I'm distracted from the fact that I'm moving around. Then, sometime later, I'm like, "Hey! There are some muscles on my calves. Who knew?"

The comment we hear most often from our instructor:

"Mary Anna, he's giving me that look again."

(said as I frown at her for asking me to do something that I know my body is just not going to do)

Me too! Maybe some day I'll get Mr. SK to go with me for a lesson or two. Not holding my breath, but it could happen... Ole

The exercise while having fun together is why I suggested it.

And don’t forget that I suggested going three times a week.

It helps that it’s the same parking lot as our gym. And the best barbecue store. Smiler. And the game store. And Panera Bread. My car gets here on autopilot now.

Yes, you did suggest going three times a week. I probably would never have done that on my own, and now I'm getting those calf muscles and I can bumble through triple-step swing without getting too winded. Amazing how that happens...
