How complicated can it be to make good muffin cups? I found out.... Bought the Kroger branded product:  The sides of the cups collapsed when I put the batter in them:  Didn't take pics (you'll have to take my word for it) but the baked muffin stuck like crazy to the cup, a total waste. Probably lost 20 percent of the muffin. Mr wtg was dispatched to buy something else. He picked these up at Target. Made of parchment and claiming to be non-stick. Made in Canada, usually a good sign.  They didn't collapse and....Et voilà ! no sticking...  (maybe everyone else in the world already knew about these, but I was totally gobsmacked with how they didn't adhere to the muffins....)

Nice! I bought reusable silicone muffin cups, and they work great, too. No sticking.

I have not, wow! It's the cutting edge of bakery! WTG, 20% muffin loss is definitely to be avoided! (or not, maybe it's part of that new diet people are talking about...

That’s what I have. They work really well. And if you want to send muffins home with someone, just pop them out of the cups.

Dare I confess that I'm not a huge muffin fan? They've always struck me as an overly ambitious roll, or a disappointing cookie or cake. If I want something sweet, I'd rather have cookies or cake. If I don't want the sweetness, I'd far rather have a yeasty roll. | |||

That pretty much describes me as far as cupcakes and muffins go. Notable exceptions are cornbread muffins and a positively fabulous carrot muffin with cream cheese icing that my neighbor makes. I hadn’t used my muffin tin for probably thr last six or seven years, but I bought a box of a banana almond muffin mix at Costco on a whim. And so the baking cup saga began...

Me too, but every now and then I come across a great bran muffin drenched in honey and I change my mind. Isn't bran good for you? (Blueberry muffins are also hard to pass up).
