'How far y'all going?' Ruby asked us with a sigh.
'We're going all the way 'till the wheels fall off and burn.
Till the sun peels the paint and the seat covers fade and the water moccasin dies'.

We were very close when we played Debussy's Nocturnes this fall. The cello part has 6 sharps in tenor clef in Nuages, and Sirens has 6 flats written in tenor clef.

Ravel’s Sonatine (which I played at Ken’s and at Jerry’s) has sections with 6 sharps and sections with 6 flats.

I don't mind lots of flats and sharps, but clef changes drive me crazy! I see it in some organ works (to alto or tenor clef), where its only function is to avoid a few leger lines. Give me leger lines any day.

Not that I play organ much anyway.

I suppose I should be thankful that every voice of a fugue doesn't have its own staff and clef.
