thank you. so grateful for you taking this on.

i am phone banking every evening for the democratic party in montana. it is very discouraging, honestly. i begin by asking everyone if we can count on their vote for steve bullock for the u.s. senate. here is the most colorful reply i received:

"i would rather shove a wet noodle up a badger's ass in a telephone booth than vote for steve bullock."

There's not a lot I can do in a pandemic in the ruby red state of Oklahoma. But I've contributed to Jaime Harrison in South Carolina, and I'm going to contribute to Theresa Greenfield in Iowa.

I have the opposite issue... not a lot I can do in bright blue Portland. But I have been on a phone bank for Mark Kelly (running for Senate in AZ and likely to swing the state blue). I thought about volunteering to collect and deposit our mail-in ballots for people who were nervous about putting them in the mailbox, but was told that was illegal.

Details.

MS and boyfriend (nc) and Brother (az) signed to be poll workers. Might help keep lines shorter.

Is there a Covid risk? Yes.

Is it worth some risk to end this presidency? Yes.

Other people put their lives on the line all the time for this country. One day at a polling site to preserve the right to vote when it is under siege seems a modest sacrifice.

This is a good question.... right now I think my answer is "not enough." Hmmm, need to work on that.

I did get yard signs, for the first time in my entire life! I'm going to put them up on Monday, one for Biden/Harris, and one each for our senator candidate and state rep.

I'll be putting them up as far away from our car as possible. Let's see how long they last before someone takes them down...

I've donated money and am currently assessing where the best place might be to donate more of it.

If it weren't for the pandemic, I would be inclined to be in the streets protesting at the moment. There are so very many things happening that are worthy of protest.

It had never crossed my mind to attend a protest before the current administration, but I participated in the Women's March and in a local event calling attention to a plan to put children in cages at a military base near here. They didn't bring them here (that I know of, but it's 2020, so who knows?) but they surely put them somewhere else, so all I feel that I did was register my displeasure.

At our age, I think getting COVID would be a terrible thing, so I am staying home. I don't feel particularly good about that.

My GOP-leaning neighborhood has 203 houses. When last I checked, there were about 11 Biden/Harris signs up and ZERO Trump signs.

Can't say I've seen any sign destruction taking place.

Yard signs do not seem to be a big thing here. I don't think I have ever seen one other than for school board candidates.

Something new this year is ladies on the corner selling Trump merch. I was going to stop by and ask if they have any of the white hoods with the eyes cut out but they seem real nice and I don't really want to get in to it.

In my neighborhood the hot topic was BLM signs on lawns being removed overnight. I've not seen many presidential lawn signs, more for our local mayoral race.

So people just put them in their front windows instead. ThumbsUp

I have a BLM sign. No one has touched it other than the guys who mow. They put it back in the same spot every time.

I like the homemade ones quite a lot. There are a lot of those around here. That feels nice.

Thank you, ron!

And highlighting all the above, is the infinitely greater certitude that he will follow-through on his these good intentions (don't dare regard them all as carry-through commitments, given pragmatic realities).

But if he can't, that he'll deal honestly (what's that?) with that reality. Can you imagine? NO MORE LIES!? duh
