I just learned that for (at least some) sites with a paywall, if you hit "reader mode" in your browser, you can read the article. Worked for the Friedman op-ed in the NYT that P*D posted in another thread.

I'm sure someone more technically knowledgeable than I could explain why...

Well hokey smokes. I had never even heard of reader mode. When did I turn into my mother?

I had to look up how to even find reader mode in Safari, which I use most often. I just hit a Pay wall… And it worked!
