I continue to enjoy your contributions Brian!

I love scrolled music desks and want to replace my ebony solid one with an old rosewood scrolled, but have not been able to locate one yet. It will match the rosewood inside fallboard veneer and rosewood black keys that I purchased.

Neoclassical Upright Piano height: 7 ft. 3 in. ‘Piano Giraffe c. 1810’

In the beginning of the nineteenth century, during the age of Schubert, Schumann and Beethoven, this form of upright piano, known as ‘Piano Giraffe’ was developed in Austria around 1800. Instrument-makers designed these early upright pianos in various fanciful shapes in the Empire style. This piano incorporates the “additional keys” which were first added in 1794, bringing the keys up to six full octaves.

I love those music desks. Most modern pianos have VERY boring ones...
