RF, I'll look around.. a while back there were some very nice transcriptions of GW's stuff online, this was before his book came out. Then, I justified using it because his music wasn't available any other way. Of course I bought the book right away, but I noticed that around the same time as the book came out, that peson's webpage was taken down. No coincidence I'm sure!

Using my Yamaha S90 ES to work on a piece I could play roughly when I moved to Utah
Massenet's Melodie No. 5
and started Ain't Misbehavin, but think it must be a simplified version. Will look for the original.
Was playing the first page of Beethoven's Piano Sonata #5 when I moved. May go back to that after I become accustomed to the piano again.

My good cello bow split in three places at the screw. It has been at the repair shop for six weeks. Can not tolerate the tone I get with my spare bow.
Was working on Breval's Sonata in C major and an Adagio and Allegro from the Sonata in E minor by Marcello. Both are in Suzuki #4.
My cello instructor is now over a mountain pass and nearly three hours away. Will no longer be able to take a weekly lesson. May go there occasionally or find someone in Denver.

There ought to be at least a few good cello teachers in Denver.

My good bow cracked near the tip about 30 years ago, and I had it repaired. They glued it and then wrapped it with clear nylon thread; it's still holding. Then a month ago I knocked the tip of the bow against a cinderblock wall, and the very tip chipped off. Frowner It's in the shop this week getting a cosmetic repair -- the guy said that it's probably not necessary to fix it from a functional standpoint, but he'll glue a small piece of wood there to make it look better. The bow is not worth much of anything now, but it's a good stick (nice old pernambuco -- very dense).

I also still have the Lothar Siefert bow my first teacher picked out for me when I was 14. It's not bad.

My sister's piano has had that piece played on it by *the man* himself! Her plate is signed by Indrek too. Alex brought him to her house in Seattle before Classical Grands closed its doors.

For the last two weeks, I've been working on sections of the K.517. Mostly hands separately. One section I needed some fingering suggestions on.

Today at my PL, for the first time ever, I played through the whole first half hands together. It came to a near standstill a couple of times, but I slogged through it.

There is hope.

There is also the second half which has the same themes as the first but in a different key.

I'm working on all the knuckles on my piano. Removing each hammer - cleaning off the hardened graphite (that I put too much on when I didn't know better) using dry cleaning fluid, voicing down the hammers just a tad.

Now suddenly there's no more clackity clack sound when my hammers fall back to their resting position when I play!!!

I got very discouraged after the trip to Ct a couple of weeks ago. I was trying to show LJC what I had learned on the Rach 23/4 and maddenly got stage fright and I came home thinking I would never try to play for anyone again. It is not finished but should almost be and I flubbed really bad places that I know, I know!

However the beauty of your melody always shines through. I want to have you visit and play for me until you are no longer nervous.

AS for me I've been reading a bit of Albeniz, and some Chopin Preludes. I am always reading Rachmanioff wondering what I will obsess on next.
